The Honda Activa 7G (in India’s crowded scooter market), to all of us who leads a rational life: Never let flashy die out! Thoughtful updates and tried-and-true performance will always trump the flash of an ex, in a crowded scooter market.
No it is not just another-product on offer this latest generation – it is Honda’s refinement of a formula that has reigned supreme on Indian roads for over two decades.
Familiar, But Fresh First Impressions
Now you are welcomed with the Activa 7G giving you its old familiar silhouette but with a bit more modern look Activa is basically the same under the skin.
Out Of The Box: Old And Nostalgia Yet Refreshed
Carrying Activa 7G under its belt we have Honda, India’s leading eco-friendly engine enabler with the same reliable 110cc HET (Honda Eco Technology) engine that churns out a 7.68PS and 8.79Nm Torque.

The figures though may appear modest, but the reality is where best this car really shines with refined fuel injection system rendering fluid throttle effort and maximum fuel efficiency.
Power: Trust the Good Old Five-cylinder Accents
Powering the Activa 7G is Honda’s dependable 110cc HET which supplies **7.68PS power and **8.79Nm torque. The numbers look pretty earthbound but its 171mm ground clearance and 180kg kerb weight makes it amenable for all Indians.
It seems like:
Revolutionary, but Still Reliable Riding
A claimed 60kmpl translates to ~ 50-55kmpl in reality so our 5.3-liter fuel tank* can see **400km itself, passe blocked right. Engine is very almost silent, with Honda’s silent start making the hatch premium feel even more so. The CVT is still buttery smooth and driving stop-start in traffic becomes a recreational activity.
Ride & Handling: City Superiority
Activa 7G comes with the suspension like – telescopic forks at front and spring-loaded hydraulic shocks at the rear which is well tuned to take care of Indian road conditions. Average and improves on bumpy roads until 80kmph also controlled quite well, with the 130mm drum brakes (the optional CBS making it more stable when you stop) providing ample foot brakes. We did dare to hope that at least top sportsbike variants would receive these standard, although it’s a shame they did not include a front disc.
How impressive is the solo and pillion riding of this From the looks 👀… Activa is less stable with respect to the above virtue, compared with many competitors it becomes unrideable if one is present. It does a surprising job keeping it’s poise for the city use i guess being much more practical compared to its competition (e.g. — not family friendly like other two wheelers)
Pro Tip: Features That Matter
Honda have shown the 7G with these nice-in-pouch extras:
- Canal headlamps and DRLs for closer visibility
- External fuel top-up is convenient
- Digital-Analog Instrument Cluster with real time mileage
- Honda Smart Key (only for top model with answer back)
- USB charging port for phone (at last!!)
Idling stop to save fuel when the traffic does..
Though perhaps not the most cutting-edge in terms of connectivity, the Activa is all about what commuters actually need; solid daily, no frills functionality.
